Einsam wandelt dein Freund im Frühlingsgarten, Mild vom lieblichen Zauberlicht um flossen, Das durch wankende Blüthenzweige zittert, Adelaïde! In der spiegelnden Fluth, im Schnee der Alpen, In des sinkenden Tages Goldgewölken, In Gefilde der Sterne strahlt dein Bildniss, Adelaïde! Abendlüftchen im zarten Laube flüstern, Silberglöckchen des Mais im Grase säuseln, Wellen rauschen und Nachtigallen flöten, Adelaïde! Einst, o Wunder! entblüht auf meinem Grabe, Eine Blume der Asche meines Herzens Deutlich schimmert auf jedem Purpurblättchen: Adelaïde! Μοναχός περιπλανιέται ο φίλος σου στον κήπο της άνοιξης Απαλά λουσμένος από υπέροχο μαγικό φώς Που λαμπυρίζει μέσα από τα ανθισμένα κλαδιά καθώς κινούνται Άδελαίδα! Στο καθρέφτισμα του ποταμού, στα χιόνια των Άλπεων Στα χρυσά σύννεφα της μέρας που φεύγει Στο κόσμο των αστεριών λάμπει εκθαμβωτικά η εικόνα σου Άδελαίδα! Το νυχτερινό αεράκι μέσα από τα απαλά φύλλα γεννά ψίθυρους Ασημένια καμπανάκια θροίζουν μέσα στο γρασιδι Τ α κύματα βουίζουν και τα αηδόνια τραγουδούν Άδελαίδα! Ξάφνου μια μέρα! Ω θαύμα! Θα ανθίσει πάνω από τον τάφο μου Ένα λουλούδι από τις στάχτες της καρδιάς μου Καθάρα θα λάμψει σε κάθε πέταλο βιολέτας Αδελαίδα!
